The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service Awarded to Tamworth Samaritans

On 2nd June 2014 all of the volunteers at Tamworth Samaritans were extremely proud to be awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Services.

Nominated by Tamworth Borough Council, the award recognises the volunteers’ commitment to supporting the residents of Tamworth and the surrounding areas, and in particular our Outreach, which takes Tamworth Samaritans out to the community, into schools, community centres, local train stations, HMP/YOI Swinfen Prison – anywhere we can make a real difference, providing confidential support or just making the community more aware of the support we offer.

HM Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire Ian Dudson CBE SStJ is due to present the award to all of the Volunteers in Tamworth Castle on 7th October 2014.
