What’s Happening at Kenilworth Town Council?

The Council’s year starts with its AGM, and this year following on the election, we have a completely new Council with 13 new members and no one party having control. It is therefore difficult as we go to press to say what the new Council’s main objectives will be but these will no doubt become apparent in the next few months.

The AGM will also be the last meeting chaired by our Mayor, Cllr Michael Hitchins. He has had a very busy and productive year which has been particularly marked by the work and engagement that he initiated with local organisations and which we very much hope will increase and prosper. We thank him for all the work he has done for the Town during his year in office.

With the summer now starting we have our usual calendar of events being prepared in the Town with the Lions Grand Show and Kenilworth Agricultural Show due at the beginning of June followed by the Food Festival and our annual Carnival.

With the spring planting coming to an end we shall also look forward to our summer planting by Kenilworth in Bloom. Once more we shall have the benefit of their colour throughout the Town and also a more welcoming Abbey Fields with all of its benefits.
