What’s Happening at Kenilworth Town Council?

It seems a pity that the Christmas Lights had to be turned off in early January, particularly as the new display with the further additions has been so successful, and the Lights Weekend so popular. We can still however enjoy the new flower plantings which are so well displayed in the upgraded planters which the Town purchased last year, and which will soon also display new Town welcome plaques.

Congratulations to the winner of the Christmas 2018 Shop Window Competition who was The Farthing Gallery in High Street, their display was excellent as were the runners up, Kenilworth Sweet Shop and Saks Hair & Beauty, both in Warwick Road.

With our Neighbourhood Plan in place and the master scheme for Eastern Kenilworth consultation completed this month, we will soon have the basis to maintain the character of the Town when the developments envisaged by the Local Plan start later this year.

The Town Council will be fixing its budget for next year and is expected to freeze the Town Council precept for a further year, whilst continuing to make provision for grants, which in past years have helped towards funding the Christmas Lights, Bloom, Carnival, Arts Festival and a variety of other events and causes that we value in our Town.

Happy New Year to everyone!
