What’s Happening at Kenilworth Town Council?
November was a very busy month with the Warwick District Council Consultation on Phase 2 of the District Leisure Improvement plans hosting many meetings throughout the town. Further similar consultations started on the development plan for Eastern Kenilworth and we had our long-awaited Referendum on the Kenilworth Plan.
The results of the Leisure Consultation will be collated and brought to the District Executive in the New Year when a decision will be made as to what is practical and viable, to bring our leisure facilities up to the first-class standards achieved in Leamington and Warwick.
Congratulations to the Round Table for yet another wonderful firework display on Bonfire Night. November also saw our War Memorial cleaned and repaired and the addition of the four further names of those who died as result of conflict.
After all that, it is a pleasure to start our Christmas Season with the Kenilworth Lights Weekend and we would thank the Illuminations Committee for a wonderful start to the season and for the display created by our new Town Lights. It’s also good to see the new wooden flower planters beginning to replace the old ones, and time to thank the Kenilworth in Bloom Committee for their work throughout the year which makes our Town more cheerful.
The Town Mayor, Michael Hitchins, and all Councillors and staff wish everyone a Very Happy Christmas and a Prosperous and Peaceful New Year!
