Positive Images Festival Marks it’s 25th Anniversary

More than a thousand visitors flocked to Broadgate on Saturday 15th June for the launch of the 25th Positive Images Festival by Coventry’s Lord Mayor, Councillor Linda Bigham.

The City Centre was a hive of activity, with stalls selling delectable dishes, attractive handmade jewellery, beautiful fashion accessories, books and much more. The entertainment programme showcased local talent at its very best.

An umbrella organisation, Positive Images Festival also incorporated Coventry Pride, Coventry Welcomes Festival (formerly called Refugee Week), Finham Festival, Hillfields Community Festival and Retro Sports Festival. Styvechale Open Gardens enabled people to visit some lovely suburban gardens and raised the monumental sum of £7,000 for national and local charities.

Free workshops on yoga, art, wellbeing, poetry as well as outdoor environmental workshops continue to be held in different locations. The festival ends with a grand finale in September.
