Activities Galore at the Nuneaton, Bedworth & District Mencap Society!
The Nuneaton, Bedworth & District Mencap Society is a group of volunteers affiliated to Royal Mencap, but we receive no funding from them, and we raise our funding ourselves locally.
We provide education and social activities for adults and children with a learning disability in the Nuneaton & Bedworth area. There are activities going on pretty much every day including cooking, art, keep fit, swimming, discos, games and bingo nights and a number of social groups.
The social groups enjoy trips to places of interest, holidays, pub nights and activities on our site at Chetwynd House, The Parade, off Princes Street, in Nuneaton. The service is very much valued by our members and has been running in excess of 50 years with some of our volunteers being there for most of that time.
We hold a number of fundraisers throughout the year including an Easter Fair, a summer BBQ and a Christmas Fair. Our next event to be held at Chetwynd House is the Easter Fair on Saturday 13th April from 11am until 1pm. We have many inviting stalls including home cooked food, bottles, bric a brac, books & DVDs, art, toys & tombola. We also sell hot batches, teas & cakes and hold a raffle with lots of lovely donated prizes. Please come along and support our worthy cause!
