Community Project Makes Over 15,000 Face Visors

Broken Souls Rescue is a Coventry based non-profit CLG which rescues unwanted or abandoned pets from vets, council pounds and private emergency calls from the general public. We are a volunteer run community project originally funded by The Princes Trust and run solely on donations from the public.

As all the fundraising events we would normally attend have been cancelled due to Covid-19, and therefore all fostering and adoption paused, our fundraising team have turned their skills into helping frontline NHS Staff, GP surgeries, hospices, care homes and First Responders.

Using donated help from Coventry Trophy Centre and another laser in Swadlincote to cut the required pieces, we have already made and donated over 15,000 industry-approved standard face visors for free to protect those who are risking their own lives to protect others.

Over 5,000 of these were assembled by three volunteer families in Balsall Common – Claire Keogh, Lorna Ogilvy and Lizzie Clark. Without them I would have had great trouble meeting the demand locally. I owe them a huge thanks for their enthusiasm.

That’s me with the motorbike, Paul Bennett, collecting parts from Coventry Trophy Centre!
